A zinc articulate table
2020
Originally created for a collaboration with The New Craftsmen (now The New Craftmaker), this is one of only two zinc iterations (the other in private hands) of our articulate table design.
The table was made in birch plywood, then wrapped in zinc sheet and finished to a dark patina. Having just re-photographed the table after six years, the details are even more beautiful than we remember, and the patina is richer. It has a few small white rust spots, but these are superficial and could be darkened with a touch up pen to make them recede.
Camilla is inclined not to sell this one, but we sold its copper cousin two years ago and we know how overjoyed the new owner was – she had seen it in the original exhibition five years earlier! Besides, we still have the original oak version and the Carrara marble version.
