Nature
Our furniture is designed and made to become more beautiful over time.
Our furniture is designed and made to become more beautiful over time.
Using natural or recycled materials give us the best chance to repair or reuse. Our 100 year plan means we're committed to finding ways to extend the life of every piece we make.
We are all stardust. The materials we work with have been part of this planet for longer than any of us can properly imagine – oak trees growing for 50 million years, stone laid down in shallow tropical seas 350 million years ago. To work with them is to feel that continuity. It is grounding in the most literal sense.
We think of ourselves as borrowing from nature rather than taking from it. That means working only with what we need, wasting as little as is feasible, and returning what remains in the best way possible.
We do this not only for practical purposes but to illustrate the beauty of the natural world and inspire positive change.
That feeling runs through the whole team. Between us, we swim in wild water, run trails, watch birds, surf, grow things, plant trees and spend as much time outdoors as any working week will allow.
Nature is not a policy for us. It is where we come from, and where everything we make will eventually return.
