The peacock garden seat
A made-to-measure oak garden seat inspired by JP White's seminal Peacock design, the first of our Studies series.
JP White of Pyghtle Works produced some of the finest garden furniture of the Arts and Crafts period, and the Peacock design is among his best: a seat of such considered proportion and craftsmanship that it has never really dated. Our version is a close study of the original, made with the care and respect the design deserves, and it is the first piece in what we are calling our Studies series: designs that pay homage to a particular moment in making history.
Our garden seat has now lived through several seasons in our own garden in Stamford, the oak slowly settling into the silvery grey tones it will perfect over the coming years and decades. It is available raw, oiled or painted, and made to measure in our Stamford workshop.
