A crane table in raw oak 2026

The crane table is a clean architectural, arts & crafts inspired design and is named, in fact, after the influential Arts and Crafts figure, Walter Crane.

This handsome example is constructed in prime oak and is available because it was an exercise for Katy, a maker-in-training. Katy's timber selection is excellent, as is her attention to detail – I've included a photo of Katy's fastidious 'glue-up'. The top is a substantial 50mm too.

Endlessly versatile, this piece can be finished in any of our oak finishes, or painted in a paint and colour of your choice. It could also be left just as it is – the raw oak will quickly become richer and more colourful with time, and you can scrub and bleach it clean as often as you'd like.
